8 Locations in Los Angeles Every La La Land Fan Should Visit

8 January 2020

Visit these spots around the city for the ultimate movie experience.

The 105/110 freeway interchange

If you’re ever in the city and are stuck in one of its notorious traffic jams, just think about the movie’s upbeat tunes and neatly-choreographed dances just to keep calm. Only remember: don’t step out of the car. You’re not in a real-life movie, you know.

Cathy’s Corner at Griffith Park on Mt. Hollywood Drive

Loved the scene where the two young lovers (played by Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling) lamented the lack of “A Lovely Night” against the backdrop of the dreamy fiery sunset and view of the San Fernando valley? Relive the moment for yourself (with someone you’d rather be with, hopefully) on this now-iconic street. To take a pic of the sunset, you’ll need a camera that’s powerful enough to capture every hue in the sky.

Griffith Observatory

The popular tourist attraction, which lets you get closer to the stars, was made even more popular thanks to the romantic dance scene between the actors as Mia and Sebastian.

Warner Bros Studios

Visit Mia’s old workplace, a coffee shop on the parking lot of the studios, where you may encounter a star or two. Should you be getting a cuppa there, don’t forget to bring along a reusable coffee cup like this travel-friendly flexible cup, or a KeepCup.

Encino

When Emma Stone had her car towed away in the movie, she ended up walking down the hill and home, where she met Ryan Gosling’s character in a restaurant midway. While several articles say it’s too far a distance to really walk home, we’re guessing it’s cause Emma’s character doesn’t have an Uber account.

Hermosa Beach Pier

What’s a visit to Los Angeles without soaking in the beach vibes and views of the never-ending Pacific?

The Lighthouse Cafe

Located on Hermosa Beach, the iconic cafe is where Sebastian introduces Mia to jazz properly for the first time.

Rialto Theatre

Following its appearance in the Oscar-winning film, the once-closed historic theatre (it shut its doors in 2007) may be transformed into a church and event space now.
