Hibiki Sake Bar & Dining Review: Cosy Japanese Restaurant Serving Delicious Yakitori and Sake

7 August 2020

Located in the mixed development of a regional business hub in Paya Lebar Quarter 3, Hibiki Sake Bar & Dining is a Japanese restaurant you must try when you’re nearby. This welcoming space boasts a comprehensive menu of authentic Japanese dishes from donburi, to yakitori and udon. The restaurant also offers affordable set lunches that’ll get you more bang for your buck.

We were impressed with the Hibiki’s Signature Omi Wagyu Beef Don on its Set Lunch Menu, where chunky yet tender beef slices complemented the truffle-and-sesame-flavoured rice perfectly. The dish was further elevated with the addition of the onsen tamago (a runny egg). Other available set lunches include Buta Don ($18), Beef Sukiyaki Angus ($20) and Chicken Teriyaki Set ($16). Another highlight from our visit was the sublime Yakitori Set ($16) comprising of five skewers – three types of meat and two vegetables. If you have any diet restrictions, do inform the staff and they’ll be more than glad to arrange a dish for you.

No meal is complete without a drink and at Hibiki Sake Bar & Dining, they are known for their wide variety of sake. Over 80 options for you to pick from, most of them are imported directly from Japan. Try both their cold sake such as the Kagamiyama Ginjyo (Saitama) and Kiminoi Honjyozo (Niigata). Or opt for the hot sake such as Kokuryu Kuzuryu Dai Ginjyo Atsukan (Fukui) which was highly recommended.
