16 August 2024 by Grace Kho

Bintan has always been a top choice for a short getaway, thanks to its beautiful beaches, sand dunes, and comfortable resorts! Whether you’re balling it out with your friends at the iconic Club Med or looking for an easy vacation spot at Nirwana Resort Hotel Bintan, there are several must-do activities - especially the water sports!

Since the water sports scene is less vibrant in Singapore, activities like jet skiing and banana boating have become popular in Bintan! Here’s a 2D1N weekend getaway guide that you can follow for a quick, “no leave needed” vacation.

Day 1 Afternoon

Sleep in on a Saturday before heading over to Bintan in the afternoon! We recommend taking a ferry between 11am – 2pm, as most resort check-ins are after 3pm. Since Bintan is an hour behind Singapore, this is a great timing to enter Bintan via the ferry which you can purchase from Klook or on their websites!

Once you arrive at the Bintan Ferry Terminal, most resorts offer a shuttle bus service to their properties. Check into your room, and the fun begins!

Since the trip is short, the first thing to do is to hit the beach! Play a game of beach volleyball or dig your toes into the soft white sand while watching the waves crash on the shore.

What’s Bintan without participating in some water activities? Most resorts offer a variety of options, such as snorkeling, leisure diving, kite surfing, and more. Be sure to try a few of these activities while you’re there!

Alternatively, relax in the resort’s pool or jacuzzi, and enjoy a drink or two at the poolside bar. Don’t forget to catch the sunset before heading back to your hotel room to dry off!

Day 1 Evening

When the night falls, it is time to fill yourself up with a great meal! There are many popular restaurants around the area if you’re looking for a nice place to dine with your loved ones. However, for a more authentic Bintan experience that you can’t find in Singapore, we recommend visiting one of the many Kelong Seafood restaurants, where you can enjoy freshly caught seafood straight from the sea!

After dinner, you can either take a relaxing walk along the beach or enjoy a drink at one of the bars before ending your night.

Day 2 Morning

Rise and shine early for breakfast, usually provided by the resort. Remember to stay hydrated, as the weather in Bintan can get very hot. After breakfast, it’s time for more activities! You might choose to try another water sport, which we highly recommend. Alternatively, you can book a private tour to see the famous Blue Lake and Sand Dunes!

Dress in your best, as you’ll want to capture many Instagram-worthy shots there! If you're up for some adventure and don’t mind getting muddy, try out their ATV runs and challenge each other to a fun, messy ride in the sand.

Before heading back to Singapore, make sure to indulge in a classic Bintan massage to conclude your trip. Remember to pre-book your massage before heading there to guarantee a slot! Choose from options like Foot Reflexology, Aromatherapy Body Massage, or even a Body Scrub or Facial. With so many choices, it’s the perfect way to end your weekend getaway.

After your massage, it’s time to bid farewell to the sea. Collect your bags and head to the Bintan Ferry Terminal to catch your ferry back. Get ready to recharge for the workweek ahead!
