What’s Cooking: Home-Based Food Businesses in Singapore You Need to Try

17 September 2026 by Grace Kho

Home-based businesses in Singapore have been on the rise, with home-based cafes and bakeries booming with sweet treats that target festive events like Chinese New Year or Hari Raya. Some of these businesses have evolved into full-fledged home F&B businesses that go beyond selling sweet treats, catering, and serving full meals as well.

In this story, uncover some of these home-based food businesses that you can look forward to booking or ordering from for the upcoming festive seasons. Be sure to order early before slots are taken up!

This home-based private diner makes sure that you, your family and friends are well taken care of and leave feeling full and satisfied. The best part about private dining is being able to interact with the chef, understand the dishes and even request special arrangements.

Indulge in hearty Nonya cuisine, including popular dishes like Buah Keluak Prime Pork Ribs and Oxtail Rendang, in the comfort of Lynnette’s home. She is warm and inviting, and dining there feels just like home, complete with restaurant-quality dishes.

Remember to book early for the upcoming festive seasons. For regular bookings, reserve at least 2 weeks in advance for weekdays and at least 4 weeks in advance for Fridays and Saturdays, as these slots are especially popular!

We first tasted their treats when we chanced upon them on GrabFood, and what caught our eye was the iconic Dubai Chewy Chocolate. The filling was generous and crunchy, and the best part was that it wasn’t overly powdery to the point of creating a mess when eaten. The mochi had an exceptional texture, and it still tasted great even after being refrigerated for a couple of days.

Aside from the Dubai Chewy Chocolate, they also sell cookies that are perfect for gifts or a light treat. We tried the classic chocolate chip with sea salt and have to admit, they really do have a knack for sweet treats. On their social media, another popular favourite is the Speculoos Cheesecake. If you’re thinking about getting a cake for someone’s birthday or even for end-of-year parties, perhaps you can consider ordering a cake and some treats from Days with You!

With the end of the year around the corner, we’re sure you have plenty of dinner parties planned. Take BBQ meat to another level with Mandai Smoke Co.

Smoked in the comfort of their home, they deliver different kinds of smoked meats right to your doorstep. Find popular favourites like beef short plate, beef ribs and pork belly gloriously charred to perfection. The meats are crispy on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside. Order early for your next gathering, and we’re sure it will be the star of the party.

Converting their front yard into a dine-in café, Coffee Near Me is one of the pioneering home cafes in Singapore that remains as popular as ever. Completely pet-friendly, you can meet and even dine with the owners over a nice cup of coffee, matcha and pastries.

Open only on weekends and public holidays, this spot is a must-visit if you’re hitting hiking trails like MacRitchie Reservoir. Near their home café is another well-known prata place, Casuarina Curry, so you can indulge in a hearty lunch before grabbing a sweet treat from Coffee Near Me after!

When thrift and café do a crossover in someone’s house, of course we expect great things, and the Ma-Thrift Bro Club definitely does not disappoint. With a corner dedicated to thrifting, tables for dining in and a wide variety of drinks to choose from, this place feels like a shopping café all in one, right on the front porch of their home!

What we love about this place is that they really have plenty of café-grade matcha, lattes and hojicha to choose from. There are even unique flavours like Gula Melaka Matcha Latte and Earl Grey Matcha Latte, to Spanish Iced Latte. That’s not all. Pair your drinks with Milo Dinosaur Butter Toast and relax on their front porch with your friends. They are open every Sat & Sun, so if you don’t have any weekend plans, how about thrifting and matcha?
