Here’s How to Get Rid of Your Extra Loose Change at Changi Airport Easily

3 January 2020

The short answer? Cash ‘em outside. At Terminals 1 and 3, that is.

It’s something most travellers face – envelopes of loose change and coins in currencies that culminate into dead piles of coins and notes you may never use again, or forget about for your next trip. And instead of spending your leftover currency on tacky souvenirs that take up space, or an overpriced bottle of water at the airport, the founders of TravelersBox have come up with the perfect solution.

Converting your coins into digital money, the Israel-based company has sought out several partners including Starbucks, Facebook, Paypal, Skype, Changi Foundation, Visa and Grab.

The kiosks, which are currently at Changi Airport’s Terminals 1 and 3 now accept nine currencies – the Singapore Dollar, Thai Baht, Australian Dollar, Chinese Renminbi, Indonesian Rupiah, Hong Kong Dollar, Japanese Yen, Philippine Peso and the Malaysian Ringgit.
