Haven Bistro review: Freshest seafood and teppanyaki sets at affordable prices in Jalan Besar

If you’re a fan of teppanyaki, you’ll know that it doesn’t go easy on the wallet. But at Haven Bistro, they’d like to dispel that notion. Situated on the first floor of Noble Hotel, this quaint bistro is of walking distance from Boon Keng MRT. Opened in March 2019, this restaurant is helmed by Chef Eric, who has more than 20 years of culinary experience under his belt. He specialises in teppanyaki dishes and here, you’ll get to taste his take on this famous Japanese cuisine.

From beef, chicken, fish and even lobster, the dishes here are well-spiced that ensures each bite packs a flavourful punch, while still maintaining the meat’s natural flavour. If you’re spoilt for choice with the array of dishes available, we recommend trying the All Day Teppanyaki (Basic Sets), where you can choose from different types of protein such as the chicken thigh, squid, oyster, red snapper or ribeye steak. Each set comes with fragrant white rice and vegetables (tip is to mix it with the sauce for the optimum fiery black pepper heat!). If you have a yen for spicy food, you can request for extra chilli on the side.

What we really love is the bistro’s dedication to serving quality eats at affordable prices. And it shows - the dishes here are cooked from scratch to ensure freshness. Who said teppanyaki has to be pricey?
