Cat & the Fiddle is well-known among cheesecake fans here in Singapore. Helmed by award-winning celebrity pastry chef Daniel Tay, Cat & the Fiddle opened in 2014 to much fanfare and adolation. 7 years and 8 retail outlets down the road, they have ventured in the cafe space with their first Cat & the Fiddle Cafe at Woods Square. More cafe outlets have sprung up across the island since then, namely at The Seletar Mall, Punggol Golf Range and Raffles Xchange.
What's worth noting is that all their cheesecakes are also officially Halal-certified by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapore (MUIS).
Modern and cozy cafe interior
Their signature cheesecakes need no introduction. Loved by Singaporeans for their wide range of flavours (26 as of last count), from classic crowd favourites like the triple fromage cheesecake Jiggly Fluff ($6.90 per slice), to stronger and more niche flavours like the durian-flavoured King Cat of the Mountain ($7.90 per slice), there is something for everyone here.

For this review, we tried their Cookies and Cream Waffles ($12.90), tiramisu Sicilian Wild Cats Cheesecake ($6.90), and a Red Velvet Soft Serve Cone ($6.90). Cheese galore indeed.
1. Cookies and Cream Waffles ($12.90)
My syrup don't drizzle drizzle, it flows
Topped with Oreo cookie crumble, icing sugar and maple syrup
There is nothing to nitpick here. Waffle was crispy outside and tender inside. The buttermilk waffles went well with the cheesecake flavoured soft serve, giving you that salty and sweet combination. We especially liked how the soft serve was thick and full of flavour. The Oreo cookie bits chipped in with the crunch and overall it was a very well-balanced dessert in our opinion.
2. Sicilian Wild Cats Cheesecake ($6.90)
Tiramisu lovers rejoice
And of course no trip to Cat & the Fiddle would ever be complete without a taste of their renowned cheesecakes. The tiramisu Sicilian Wild Cats Cheesecake ($6.90) we got was smooth, soft and flavourful. We really liked that their creations are not on the tongue-numbing sweet side which many other desserts are guilty of.
3. Red Velvet Soft Serve Cone ($6.90)
We topped off our sugary meal with the final dessert - a Red Velvet Soft Serve Cone ($6.90). It features the same cheesecake soft serve that came with the Cookes and Cream Waffles, but topped with red velvet sponge cubes and rainbow sprinkles, adding a very welcome crunch.

On top of all the aforementioned sweet creations, you can also find freshly brewed coffee at their cafes, in a collaboration between them and TAD Coffee Company. Cheesecakes and coffee, we can't think of a better combination.
