If you’ve been to Taiwan, you must have seen the snaking long queue at CHICHA San Chen. Thankfully, they recently expanded to Singapore and has opened 19 outlets island-wide! The Ding Dong Oolong Milk Tea ($4.70) is a testament to their 20 years of experience in signature brews handcrafted by Taiwanese tea masters.

Using a Teapresso method, their tea machine allows more than 1,000 custom settings for temperature-controlled brewing, releasing all the natural flavours. Their packaging is highly Instagrammable too, which includes a distinctive rope making it easy to carry and sip your boba fix.

Hailing from Taiwan, Truedan (formerly known as Jenjudan), specialises in brown sugar-based drinks. Originating from Taiwan’s Shihlin Night Market, their outlet is currently located in CityLink Mall. Try their signature Brown Sugar Boba Milk ($5.20), which at first glance may lack in colour, but its addictive pearls and milk makes it up in sflavour. Although the trend for brown-sugared bubble tea has since tapered down, they do offer more than 30 other flavours, there’s something for everyone.

The pearls are made fresh in-store upon order and uses 100% natural brown sugar with no preservatives. Known for their pink cactus pearl, it’s almost impossible to not see a queue at Playmade. Dreamy boba concoctions in pastel colours, the pearls are made in-store with zero preservatives.
